Bevin Engman lives and works in central Maine. Her still-lifes, landscapes and gouache abstractions are motivated by a desire to understand the complex properties of color and its ability to convey light. Influences on her work include Giorgio Morandi, Claude Monet and the color treatises of Josef Albers. Her work has been exhibited nationally in solo and group shows including those at Bachelier-Cardonsky Gallery in Kent CT and Arden Gallery in Boston MA.
