Ying Li

Ying Li studied and taught painting in China before immigrating to the United States in 1983. The artist works in the zone where abstraction and representation shade off into each other, with bold colors, earthy textures, and calligraphic lines that convey particular moods and a sense of place and time. Her free yet disciplined brushwork reflects her early training in Chinese painting and calligraphy. Li's work is represented by Lohin Geduld Gallery in New York.
