Megan Williamson is a still life and landscape painter who looks for a combination of beauty, complexity and simplicity in her subject matter. The artist's work emerges from of a modernist and cubist understanding of space, light and construction. Her influences include Matisse, Morandi, Pollack, Islamic tile patterns, Bonnard, Braque and her friend, mentor and teacher Nicolas Carone. Ms. Williamson lives in Chicago.
