POETIC DIMENSIONS  is an exhibition of fifty paintings selected by New York painter Gabriel Laderman to illuminate the theme of poetic metaphor in still life painting. For this show Laderman selected works by 14 Zeuxis artists and 11 artists outside the group.

As Phyllis Floyd remembers, "Like several of the painters here, I was once a student of Gabriel Laderman. In those years (60’s) and later, I saw his exhibitions at Schoelkopf Gallery and sometimes Gabriel himself from afar holding forth at the rowdy meetings of the Alliance for Figurative Artists in the 70’s along with Lennart Anderson, Leland Bell, and others."

Mr. Laderman, a fixture on the New York figurative painting scene since the 1960s, is known not only for his rigorously composed paintings but also for the keen insight of his writings, teaching, and lectures. We are grateful that he graciously agreed to help organize this exhibition.
